Bettas In General

Mine seem to go through phases of looking really well/not good. thinking about it they haven't looked well for about 10 days when I changed every tank apart from the ones upstairs. Now the ones upstairs are really lively if the water is a bit mucky. Makes you wonder if the water companies mess about with the water every now and then.
Just put a plastic container full of clean water on floor in front room to settle for 24 hours. I forgot the lid went back to fetch it. I have now got a Yorkshire terrier with a very suspicious drippy chin!

I know where I live they are change the water because of water levels and where they have to get the water from. I am always testing the water, sometimes I wonder if bottled water from the store would be better. The little Yorkie says the water just jumped up on his little chin.
