Betta With Fin Rot

He seems a bit better today. He isn't lying on the bottom anymore. But, he is very weak. He mostly just floats around with the current. He still won't eat. The Triple Sulfa treatment will be complete tomorrow. Should I buy more? All these meds are ridiculously expensive. $16 a pack which only lasts 4 days.

Here are some photos I just took.

I wouldn't treat him any longer he's been treated for a while and its not done anything.
To be honest it sounds like he's on his way out.
If he's stopped feeding not a good sign.
Did you try the garlic.
I would prepare for the worse bless him.

He stopped eating before I could use garlic juice.

I just found him on his side again at the bottom of the tank. :(

Not good i'm afraid.
Is he labour breathing.

How long has it been since he has eaten something.

He hasn't eaten in 5 days. I have tried pellets, flakes, freeze dried blood worms and frozen blood worms. He doesn't acknowledge the food at all. This is really upsetting. I hope he isn't suffering. Though I can't help but think he must be.

I know its not nice been where you have.
I think you will know when he had enough.
But to be honest it dosn't sound like he going to get better.
Garlic helps stimulate there appetite as well as boost their immune system.

A moderator from the fishlesscycling forum thinks my Betta may be reacting to too much medication, and suggested I stop treatment. He said "The fish has been exposed to sodium sulfathiazole, sodium sulfamethazine, sodium sulfacetamide, copper, tetracycline, nitrofurazone, furazolidone, and potassium dichromate, which is quite a workout for the liver and kidneys. This alone could cause lethargy, not even considering the effect of antibiotics like tetracycline on the fish as a whole." So I have stopped medicating and am following his advice. The plan is to keep the water warm (82F) and clean, along with one teaspoon of add salt, and see what happens.

Thanks for your help, I will let you know how he turns out.

I agree with him you should never use that many meds with fish it does more harm than good.
You think you are doing the right thing but meds in the wrong hands can damage a fish immune system and organs.
Sorry about the betta but I don't hold out much hope for him bless him.

Hows the betta doing.

Since his fin rot is back in full force and he isn't doing any better. I've decided to try Tetracycline on it's own, suggested to me on Ultimate Bettas.com. Though I have to order it so it will take a few days.

Think he had enough meds thrown at him that way he's ill.
If he hasn't eaten for 8 days and his finrot back I think I would maybe think about ending his suffering.
Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough.

He had all these symptoms before I started using medication. The symptoms also went away while he was on them. I strongly feel that the symptoms are still related to an illness, not the medication. I will not take part in ending his life, if that is what you are suggesting. If you are interested in following this story I am posting on Ultimate Bettas.com. This is my last post here.
