Betta Questions

I'm new to fish. I read somewhere that you need a screen or something that air can get through but will keep the fish in, above a betta tank. I was just wondering, is that true???

There needs to be fresh air above the water surface because the bettas breathe air.

Hi finfan,

What sort of tank/bowl do you have? I would recommend a lid of some sort because bettas do jump. The lid should allow fresh air to circulate.
