I couldn't find the post from the last several days from someone who said they only left a mirror in front of betta's tank 6 hrs or so per day? WHY? Any problem leaving it there longer?

Thanks
Wendy :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

I've heard even that is a little much. Bettas can get stressed flaring all day trying to protect their territory. Stress can bring along unwanted disease and which of course causes an unhealthy fish.

I could be wrong but I heard you should do it for about 20 minutes a day to give them exercise. I should imagine leaving it any longer would stress them out. Might want to get a second opinion though. :/

When they are in their prime mine love it and will strutt about for ages afterwards. The ones that are older or are ill dont like it..think it is too threateneing for them.

5-10 minutes is ample just to pump up their fins, you could do it a couple of times a day, but to leave a mirror constantly in front of the tank is much too stressful for a male betta
