Betta Has A Chunk Hanging Off His Cheek,gill,face

I'm not really sure what i am looking at but you should treat as Wilder suggests ASAP. I've seen Bettas who have recovered from gill infections have so much scarring that their gill plates are permanently open.

i've done a water change and dosed him
i've also kept his light off as it seems to cause more stress when it is on
i am due to dose him again on monday and i will prob start using melafix then if he seems to be recovering
is that what i should be doing?

just like to say thanks for helping so far and hopefully he will pull through

I thought he might not cope with both meds so wanted to see how he went on with the anti internal bacteria med.
I would only half dose the melafix when you decide to add it.

ok i wil follow your advice and leave the melafix until the anti internal bacteria stuff has done its work (7 days)
i have added some aquarium salt as well so hopefully he will perk up a bit soon
