Betta Cant Stay Upright And Keeps Going On His Side

HELP! my male betta lives in a 5 galon tank with a filter system (no heater) and is by himself. i put him in there and now he cant stay upright! he keeps floating to the top and laying on his side (scales are out of the water) i am really worries i did a ammonia test and uits all good. i turned offf the filter for a while but it didnt help him stay upright. the tank is cycled if that matters and the waters clean. when he swims its like he twiching or slowly dying!


i am really worried!help is GREATLY appreciated!

What are your present readings of ammonia and nitrite?

Most likely you over-fed your betta, leading to swim bladder disorder. The cure is to cut a frozen pea small enough to feed your betta. Then don't feed him for a couple of days. Here is a site on some betta diseases and cures : http/www.bettatalk.com/betta_diseases.htm
