Best Ways To Clean Filter Hoses?

Does anyone clean out there hoses for their external filters?

Mine were clean but after 3 weeks, the look a little dirty and wondering if this is perfectly normal?

I can't remember as its been more then 20 years since I was last involved with fishies............

i wouldnt bother cleaning the hoses unless the water flow is restricted
and in that case i would just replace them for a few quid rather than muck about cleaning them

yup, even if they're really mucky there's only a pretty slim chance that they'll be causing any blockage.

never cleaned out or replaced any of ours i don't think ??

Yes, I'm going to replace mine when they start restricting flow, probably the safest thing to do, too.
