Best way to clean off the algae and crusty bits

Hello,

So I just managed to snag a 400L tank and sump for free, it was a marine set up but I plan on using it for tropical.

I don't suppose you marine and reefs lovers have any tips for easily remove Ng all the build ups on the equipment different to how I would do it on a tropical? (Just a razor blade and elbow grease)

Have you tried vinegar? As long as you give it really good rinse after it does a good job of dissolving the crud and limescale

And no I haven't I'll give it a go. Lol it's a project tank and I've never had anything close to marine before so any advice helps

I have no advice to give you around marine I'm afraid but there's a few here well versed in salt water
