I've been looking in to making a fire extinguisher CO2 system but it's actually more expensive than I thought, with all the things costing just over £100!

I'm not too keen on the yeast method either as I'd just end up making a huge mess out of it all.

So the only option left is liquid carbon. What's the best brand and the best value brand?

I know it will end up more expensive long-term but I'm going to university in September, leaving my mum in charge of things which would end up being more of a waste of money. She should be alright feeding the fish and doing water changes though :)

Neutro Co2 from Aqua Essentials.

I have used a lot (4 liters!) of Seachem Excel over the last few years, since swapping to Neutro Co2 I have noticed no change so IME it is just as good as Excel and a lot cheaper.

Or the cheapest route is to make your own, at your own risk. Just use google to find out how to make your own if you want to save lots of £$£$£

Oooh, it's certainly a lot cheaper than EasyCarbo!

And stronger by the looks of things

Woops! I just looked at the dosage and looking back, I got them mixed up a little bit. I saw 1ml per 50L for EasyCarbo and 5ml per 250L for NeutroCO2 and never realized it's the same

Neutro CO2 is definitely cheaper though! £22.99 for a 2L bottle while a 1L bottle of EasyCarbo is £17.99 :)

No worries m8. For the future bear in mind that dosage doesn't reflect the strength tho. The Neutro might be twice as strong as the Excel yet they say dose the same - The only way to know is to understand the analysis. This is the same for all ferts etc.
Without the analysis you might be dosing water at 1ml per 50L....you'd never know
