Ok - 95 litre tank, going to end up with 4 yellow labs, 3 malawi cichlids. I want to breed the malawis so going to get 2f and 1m

Whats the best temp for these? Make them more prone to breed and what there best at?

Thanks in advance

Oh and if I bred the Malawi cichlids, would the female that didnt spawn eat the fry, and would the 4 yellow labs?

As pointed out by several people in your other thread (myself included), a 95 litre tank is not appropriate for labs or "malawi" cichlids (whichever of the several thousand species that could mean), so temperature isn't really going to make a difference.

That said, mbuna do best around 78-80 degrees F. Changing the temp up or down never seemed to make a difference on whether mine bred or not.

And as pointed out in my thread of the picture of the tank, people have told me it will be fine for a couple of labs and a few small cichlids.

I would be interested in knowing who told you it would be ok, and how many years they have been breeding mbuna (not just for profit, but for the furthering of the species). It's interesting that several thousand people on cichlid-forum.com (some of who were very involved in first bringing them to the hobby) would disagree. And I should know, I started out keeping labs in a 29gal tank despite being told not too, I ended up with a lot of dead fish before finally upgrading to a 75, but I suppose that's neither here nor there.

I wish you the best of luck. :good:
