Found this beetle floating in my mosquito larvae growing bucket. I took it out and it flew away. Any ideas what it could be?

Seems like it might be a green june beetle. Apparently they are harmful to trees, shrubs, and other plants.

Sure it's not a Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica)? Deadly to rose bushes.
I thought those were considered June bugs/beetles!... Maybe not?

When I lived in Ohio we had both June Bugs and Japanese Beatles. June Bugs were quite a bit larger. The one shown could probably be either depending on size. Both are Scarabs.

No problem.
Can't say for fact on the beasties as I'm no bug expert but we had both in Ohio and I'd pick Japanese Beatles off my grandma's rose bushes when I was a kid.
