beach snails

I got some snails from the beach on vacation. I dont know what kind or anything, but I was thinking of setting up a tank for them. Mom said yes and no so i dont know if I will be doing it, but I think so as we already have them. Is there anything that snails need?

Do they need aeration and would a 5-15 whisper power filter be okay for them?

Depends on what you have them in now but more than likely thay will die.
Unless you have a marine tank setup and cycled to put them in NOW.
even then, I don't think they will live.

I never had luck with them. The live in a cup for until I got home(2 days) when I put them in my tank, they went under the sand and I never saw them again.

oh, last time I had them for two weeks. I was planning on getting it thursday. I could get some from my lfs then if I really want some. i guess Ill just do that instead.
