I'm getting a new fish today :yahoo: I'm so excited. For my 20 gallon. And I am leaning toward the banded Gourami. I went to the pet store a week ago and saw some. They are just what I was looking for. Anyway, I wanted to know about Hiding places. They live in the top region of the tank and I was wondering what kind of hiding places would they need? I mean what reaches all the way up there. I have a floating plant that is plastic will that be enough. Also will they eat my ghost shrimp? I haven't read anything that suggested they will.

They love floating plants and will often build bubble nests if you've got a nice cozy greenhouse up there for them. Not sure of good tall plants to recommend, got that problem myself

You know waterdrop, about their bubble nest I was wondering about that. You see in my tank I have an air stone and a bubble wand. And my filter is the kind that pours the water back into the tank so...Will he or she be okay with all that water agitation?

Unless you were trying to breed them it shouldn't matter much, just kind of an interest thing.. if one can happen to come up with that kind of situation for them they seem to thrive in it I think, but just getting some tall plants perhaps bending over up there should be a good start I'd think.
