Today was my nephews B-Day party and we went to a pond to celibrate!

Well, of COURSE I had to go to the water, hehe.

I started collecting some plants for the aquarium/pond.

I got things I knew grew all over the place here, so I didnt wipe out a species, hehe.
This beautiful grass that grows in clumps- with narrowish wide blades. :)

And some clumping thing that has very threadlike leaves that grows in matts. It was in the water and on land- not sure if it's a true aquatic plant. It was pretty far off the shore in the water though. :) ( huge endless matts of this stuff! Perfect for growing fry!)

And one stem plant, lol.

I know what this stuff is but for the life of me can't remember the names. :/

After work tomorrow Imma finish putting it in flats to grow out.
When it gets going I can probably send some to whoever wants a bit.
Just cover the shipping and its yours. :)

In addition to the collecting we saw Grebes and ducks and alot of fish!

Natty had a blast in the water, hehe. * Drove aunt Jocie crazy!*
Imagine trying to collect plants/watch a kid and look out for gators.

That sounds like so much fun. So Aunty when is it my turn to go swimming huh  Glad you guys had fun.

LOL! It was fun. :)

I'm trying to I.D those plants. So far here is what I came up with. :D

The mat kind looks like a species of Isoetes kirkii - which one I don't know.

The stem plant looks like a king of Rotala - Again No clue as to what kind or if that's even it. Says it's native to Asia?

The clumping grass looks like. Sagittaria I have two different kinds of this.

POSSIBLY this too. Heteranthera zosterifolia

Some other things I'm trying to I.D too.
My tank is a solid mass of plants- gotta keep pruning so fish can swim!

This is all in a five or so gallon aquarium. :*) I've started moving plants to the pond for space! Won't be long and I can share the wealth. lol

What happened to my post? It was here a few hours ago. Hmmm.

You'll have to take some pictures of the plants when they're in your tanks.

You certainly live in a favoured place CT!! Looking out of the window here, I can see the ponds in the garden, about 4"/100mm of ice on them at the moment.

Oh no!

I feel so danged bad sometimes about that LL.

When I get this stuff to start multiplying I'd be more than happy to share some for shipping.
Plants shouldnt cost alot right? Cheaper than a pet store anyway.

I'm home sick today- if I get feeling better I'll start potting it up so it will be easier to "plug" in an aquarium.
My boss gave me a ton of plant flats to use!

Far as pictures- I gotta get my hands on a camera. I can try my webcam but the quality isnt that grand.

Don't wanna get too many irons in the fire or I'll get confused. :X

We trade seeds all the time so it shouldnt be too confusing, hehe.
