Bag Buddies Contain Clove Oil?!

[craftycarper52]

i read somewhere the other day that bag buddies ( used for transporting fish ) contain clove oil! i though clove oil was used to euthanise sick fish? if this is the case im wondering if they use small amounts of clove oil to sedate the fish which is surely not good.

Clove oil is used in massive excess to euthanise. In small doses it's used as anaesthetic- for example, trimming the teeth of puffers.

indeed. in moderation its fine for sedating fish with no adverse effects
