caffeine thought of the day… I may not be spelling it correctly but I had a bachelor, buddy that in the 80’s used one to cut his own hair.. it was a clippers that a vacuum hooked up to it…

I was thinking along those lines this morning, looking at my tanks, I’m way behind on scraping algae… ( too many 15 minute oil changes ) in some tanks the fish are happy to eat the dislodged algae, but in other tanks, it’s dislodged but still in the tank, so it settles somewhere else to grow… and actually the brushy type magnetic scrapers seem to dust up the algae and spread it around in the tank water…

if I were more anal about that, it would bother me… seems as if we could combine algae scraping and water changing chores together, a more pristine tank would follow… thoughts???

I always thought the flowbee would have sold more if it was sold in hardware stores or places like HD or Lowes.
Men are the target so sell where men shop~!
shocked at how much the price has gone up. Confirms I should have bought it years ago~!:p

On the algae how about a magnetic scraper that has a center hole that a syphon hose could attach to?
I used to use micron pads meant for filters in my breeding tanks to wipe the glass and much of the algae would stay in the pad to be easily rinsed away upon removal.

I always used a new car sponge when I used to clear algae off my glass years ago. Easy to do as algae was sucked into it if I started with the sponge squished up. Quick rinse in the water bucket and off again. Still got a razor scraper and now an algae pad to use this time. Like your idea of syphon hose, bit like my squished up car sponge acted. Actually, think I may just go out and see if I can get a new car sponge. Seems to me that it may well be better than the algae pad. And easier to clean perhaps.

I tried using it once but couldn’t get it to cut at all. I returned it for a refund. Oh well.

it’s fine, that it’s in general chat, but I was comparing it to a vacuum algae scraper…
