Night before last I did an ammonia add. 12 hour mark showed 2.0 ammonia and nitrites at 5. I forgot to do my tests last night at the 24 hour mark. This morning at roughly 36 hours I had 0 nitrites and 0 ammonia. How much bacteria could have died off if ammonia and nitrite were 0 at 24 hours and I didnt add for another 12.

Good news Lioness. The answer is virtually none at all. They don't die off that quickly.

Even if you have suffered slight die back, you will make it up within a day or two.

Cheers :good:

Agree with BTT, even after 2 days with no food, there would only begin to be a tiny percentage die-off from the bacterial colony.
