I am currently cycling my tank and have now for about 3 weeks. I have noticed quite a lot of very small white bits floating in the water which over time has started to go.
There are still a few bits floating around but there are also a few little worm type things stick to the glass. They don't seem like they are alive until u keep watching them and they move like worms. But I must stress that they are very very very very small.

Does anyone know what these are? I though maybe thats the bacteria then I thought bacteria isn't visable to the naked eye

Any help would be grately appreciated.

I have only a couple of plants in and have noticed the odd snail which I am slowly picking out of the tank.

Doing a new water test tonight so I will post them after if this will help.

Cheers for reading !!!

The worms sound like Planaria. Do a Google image search and see how they compair ;) They usualy crop up when a tank is overfed, or if ammonia is presant, so they are fairly common in a cycling tank

The white "bits" could be anything from solid waste, to more planaria... Either way, if they are in the water column, floss in the filter will sort them :good:

All the best

Cheers for that Rabbut I will look into that.

I reckon when the fish go in they will eat the worms anyway.

Quick stupid question, how are you cycling? Are you adding fish food, liquid ammonia, or just letting the tank stand?
