Baby Gold Severums

Just wanted to thank you so much for this post!! I had been sold a pair of "PINK SEVERUMS" months ago but I have not been able to find any information on Pink Severums - and now I know why! They are, in fact, Pink Convicts!!!

I am flabbergasted! All this time thinking I owned a pair of unusual Severums! :hyper:

Oh well, it doesn't make me love them any less than I do - I bought them because they were beautiful fish, not because I particularly wanted Severums. So, I'm now the proud owner of a pair of Pink Convicts - and I wouldn't have known this if it hadn't been for your post with the pics!

Thanks  - Athena

No problem, good to see I helped someone other than myself lol.Just try and not let the convicts breed as they get extremely agressive and will have a load of fry (I counted 70 something when my parents cons bred) and petshops will probs refuse to take them as they are easy to breed..Oh and for future reference on severums, you get gold, green, red and blue severums, you don't wanna end up with more convicts lol.

Yep, Convicts. The one in the first picture, and second picture on the left (think they're the same) looks a little 'roundish'?

what do you mean roundish? in the belly or just it's overall shape?

Like ~T~ said, that convict is a short body convict.

surprised you can tell at an inch in size lol

... and clown loaches are notorious for getting whitespot (I've lost a few to it myself). You might get lucky and be able to save the Severum but those delicate clowns seem to go downhill pretty fast once whitespot gets a grip of them. You'll notice they stop swimming around and find something to drape themselves over (e.g. top of filter or thermometer etc), only moving to attempt at eating but then eventually that is even too much effort for the poor things.

The ups and downs of fishkeeping, eh?

Yeah tell me bout it,sometimes you just feel like giving up :( lol.The loaches seem to be handling it better than the severum,so far the severum has stopped eating and just sits in the 1 spot rocking back and forth, I have never seen this before, especially when it's just whitespot.Poor sev :(
