Babies!

Just got in from nightshift, checked on my fish and there are about six extremely cute fish babies hovering about at the top of my tank! Thankfully I have loads of amazon frogbit at the moment! What do I do? Think they must be Molly babies (although they look like mini tetras), I have 4 dalmatians, and until about sixty seconds ago I had been unsure whether the fourth was a male.

I don't have any fish that are likely to eat them and they look too big to fit in the mouths of the current tank occupants, although I do have a cherry shrimp-hunting male Betta that might pick them off. So it seems likely that they might survive. What the hell do I do?!

Could put them in a breeding net, one of the ones that hangs over the edge of the tank.

Or along those lines just use a large net you have lying about for the time being?

Just leave them to their own devices. I was the same with my first lot of molly babies,now i have too many to cope with.I rang around all the local aquarium shops to find who would take them and have just re homed about twenty at three months old.I have more in the tank from a few days old to a couple of months.We seem to get a new batch every few weeks.

Thanks, I think I'll probably just leave them to it and sell/donate any that survive. My tank has lots of plants and hiding places so sure some will be ok, haven't got another tank to raise them in (and I'm not allowed one either!) and I don't want a huge population explosion, so will just let nature run it's course
