Hi, I just came back from shopping and fed my fish their evening meal, when I discovered that one of my botias is bleeding from its snout! I do not know whether it is agression (he is in a group of 5 plus 2 yoyos) or that it is because of the hardscape. I have 2 big pieces of wood in there with crevices and they regularly swim through them. The substrate is small gravel, but have never had any problems with bottom dwellers (botias or cories) before with this substrate.

Question is: what should I do to fix him? Separate him and apply methylene blue to heal?

It could be due to an injury.
Is there a sore on his snout, or wound, scratch etc.
Any bleeding beneath the skin.

Can you isolate the fish?
If so half dose some melafix, or a bacteria med.
Is the skin broken?

I think I can (if I can catch it). It only won't be really in a cycled tank, although it is a tank with sufficient plants, so hope it will be ok. I only have sera products, but will use a bacteria medicine.

Thanks for your help.
