i got them so i could breed them, and soon gave up on the idea, but a few weeks ago they laid eggs that i didnt manage to save after moving them to another tank for safety

yesteday i have noticed that there are about 30+ babies in the tank -Jambos tank, i just thought -oh well if they survive they do, if not ,then not the end of the world.. so whats the first thing i did this morning?? rush to see if they were ok!

i cant just leave them knowing that they will be eaten, i thought i could but i cant  ,so i can move the fry into a 40 litre tank or would a net in another tank be ok?? and what about mum and dad., will they let Jambo move when the fry have gone? hes scared witless bless him- that daddy is a nasty piece of work!!

the real problem here is i will be pushed to shift them when they are ready to go, oh god i may even have to buy another tank!!! :hey:

if i hadnt known they were there then i wouldnt have this problem, and i dont really consider my self to be girly about such things... but a hardned fishkeeper i am not .. yet

any advice would be great

Awww bless ya - personally would leave them and see what happens, but I know you wont! I would remove some of them, but leave the parents with some so they still have something to care for - otherwise they may blame each other and fight - not that I have any experience with convicts but seems unfair to take them all away.

Why is it, I find it hard to imagine Jambo scared witless

just let them get eaten you will be over run with cns if you dont you wont be able to get rid of the fry so what you goona do with hundreds of convicts just use them as feeders or split the m and f.

yeah thats a good idea, thanks minx ill give that one a go, at least then i did try :)

Jambo is really scared-if he could be he would be behind the sofa quivering  the daddy con keeps doing sumersaults to warn him off!

mark yes i know you`re right,so ill compromise and save a couple, and seperate the m/f at the earliest chance

ps the convicts are in the buy/sell section. so if anyone would like to do me and Jambo a favor,pm or text me :)

thanks both :)

yes i know how you feel shel
esp as little baby fishes for anyone is a goal in its self but,,,,,,,,

as mark says unless you have lots of tanks<breed like wildfire>then i would just leave them and hopefully they should treat jambo,,,,,
That was the reason i sold my breeding angel pair as they keep laying and getting eaten, didnt want to waist there weekly egg laying so finally modaz brought them off me, now he has had two batches from them and seem to have survivors :good:

hmmm, yeah youre right, ill leave them alone  , i wanted to get shot of the big ones as i want jambo on his own eventually,so bringing more in would just be wrong, can`t say i feel ok about it but its my own fault :(

cheers
