Well this morning i went to make a vindaloo for breakfast and did my daily check up on my 30gal hex guppy tank to see if there were any fry(got lots of heavily pregnant females at the mo), and noticed the albino corys getting very frisky indeed- they were laying eggs everywhere! So i decided to whip out my digi camera and capture the moment for you guys to enjoy :nod: , they spawned/layed eggs a total of 20times although they were already at when i noticed them so it could have been more- i saved about 40eggs although i don't know if they'll hatch, the guppys were real swimming vultures and gobbled up any eggs layed in seconds and it was hard getting to the eggs before them cos the tank is so planted, anyways enjoy :) ;

Im not sure if the eggs'll hatch, i put them in a container floating in the tank and put freshwater from the tank in the container 6-7times a day to keep it oxygenated, i've raised corys like this before but the female cory was laying so many eggs so fast im not sure if they all got fertilised properly by the males....Cory are so cute though :wub: ! Even if the eggs don't hatch i just happy she spawned as its been a long time since she last laid eggs when i was there to witness it, it realy makes you feel like you are doing somthing right with the fish :nod: .

I've never seen cories spawning before, awesome pics!! :cool:

Fantastic pics - its great when you see your own fish spawning, like you say, it makes you feel you are gdoing something right. Good luck with the eggs - hopefully you will have the swish of tiny fins soon :clap:

Thanks for the compliments, if the eggs havn't hatched out in 8days time, theres probably no hope for them but even so im just happy my corys spawned none the less, if the eggs do hatch though i'll be sure to post lots of pics throughout the fry's development for you guys to see :nod: . I'll also see if i can get some pics of the rather well fed greedy guppys themselves and the resident common plec in the tank later tonight :thumbs: . My biggest ambition with cory breeding is to one day breed or at least get my panda corys to spawn some day, im planning on buying quite a few when i get my new tank to help incourage them :) .

Never seen corys spawn or any fish actually, so enjoyed the pics, good work tokis. :cool:
