Awesome 4000gallon Aquarium Article

Wow thats a beauty...mind you if I ever had a tank like that id prolly do a massive Malawi outta it: imagine the colours and the ecosystem....would get kinda dramatic when it came to cleaning time though

I would buy my girlfriend a mermaid dress and put her in there for awhile    BTW, would anyone else be a little nervous about getting in a tank with all of the types of fish he had?

No denying that that is a brilliant project and admire the guts needed to pull off such a thing! But .... I echo an earlier post to say that it just looks to bare! There is no attempt to create an environment ... just looks like fish in captivity -_-

I don't know much about Stinrays at all but wouldn't they like sand to lie on??

If that had a substrate, moosive pieces of bogwood and plants, it would look devine, not just amazing.

Ah yes, I remember this. It truly is magnificent.
Tokis, if you do decide to do something like this one day, can I come visit? :p

yeah stunning tank, his reef tank is gorgeous too, it was also in pfk

a lot of the bigger fish he keeps prefer a bare tank i think

I think the reason why the tank is so bare is probably down to maintanence and the type of fish he's got. Red tailed catfish are notorious for trying to swallow anything they can fit in their mouth, they've even be known to try to swallow tank heaters, so this is probably one of the reasons why the guy has little decor in his tank. But i think a natural sand substrate would definately be acheiveable and would probably help the tank look a lot more complete and natural :good: .
I think plants like lillies/lotuses would look awesome in such a tank though :) .

Yes you can come swim in it  .

If my neighbour ever sells their house, i will buy it and do something like this (i don't think i would have the space to do something like this in my own house unless i did an extension...Hmm...). But there's no guarentee that they'll ever sell their house, so...
