I have all together 4 Asterophysus Batrachus. All of them have been eating and appear to be in very good health. However, the smaller of my two large ones, (about 8-9 inches) has been exhibitng some strange behavior. He appears to double in stomach size. In this size of a fish it litrally looks as though he swalled a tennis ball. I know this species has large stomachs, but this is ridiculous. After about 15-20 minutes though it just disappears. The growth seems to inhibit his movement or regualr behavior. hes only done this twice, and I beleive it was after I gave him some krill. Anybody who keeps these guys ever seen this before?

Gulpers have been known to inflate themselves with water when frightened much the same as puffers do, prehaps it is practicing its inflating trick?

My girlfriend, whose on this site (invaderwithkey), was joking around about that this morning, I didn't know they were capapble of such a trick. Thanks CFC.

As its filter feeding it could quite easy fill up as it feeds
Feed it some big foods ;)
