Is it just me or does heated (well mildly baked) debate seem to be on the rise on TFF...
Just wondering if i'm imagining things?

I'm sorry for your loss, it must have been quite horrible for you. But even to me (a complete newbie) it's obvious that those two fish shouldn't go together! I had never heard of a bichir, so i looked it up on google and the first page it listed said that in the wild they ate small fish and that it's a predator! Surely you know this, since you keep one? I know everyone makes mistakes but this mistake seems so preventable. I guess now you've learnt not to do the same thing again, but at the expense of a poor little fishy

i'm sorry but what about all of the feeder fish that get fed to predators, no one is saying anything or crying about them. It was a mistake and turned into an expensive $15 feeder fish and i'm sure that he has learned his leason. He was already grilled by a couple people at the start, so why keep doing it?

i dont know, but i know what you mean, i like a heated debate but this is an ARGUMENT rather than a debate.

Yeah seriously. It was an expensive feeder fish. It was common sense not to put that in there, but should we be railing him this much when many of us feed fish feeders. I give rosy reds to my Leopard Gouramis every once in a while because its nutritious and saves me much needed money. Each one of those poor little guys is just as important as a ghost knife, a bichir, or a shark in the grand scheme of things IMO. I for one have no right to rail this guy other than saying, hey use common sense. I think we should end this now because we need to just think about the rosy reds and we'll realize that this is a moot point now.

well, actually I've had quiet some experience, but when doing research I had completly forgotten that I had this fish because he's always hiding in my cave systems lol... Serves me right I guess, and as said I've learnt a lesson I won't soon forget

I have to agree with you there miss wiggle schools out over here now for the school leavers - they are everywhere!
