Hi guys,

I'm currently setting up a 110gal to house L-numbers and Corys :)

I absolutely adore the nature of Cihlids, havin owned Malawi Mbuna, Angels, Rams etc.

I would like some Cichlids in this tank, but ones that do not predate fry (we breed Bristlenose plecs) - but I don't think I am going to find any :(

Any ideas (please say Geophagus Brasiliensis  )

You are not going to find any fish let alone cichlids that will not eat fry. Unless you find a fish that only eats veggies. But most fish can't say no to tasty tiny bite sized fry. Sorry if you are breeding fish in a community you are going to need another tank to move fry to if you want them to live.

I thought as much.

Shame really, as I really wanted a mid level swimmer - I guess I'll have to do without.

Thanks for your response :good:

I think your other plecs might eat the eggs if you have more than the pair in the tank. If you want really high survival rates move the eggs after they have been laid community tanks are not really ideal. But it can work if you plant/make hiding places for the fry floating plants tall growing plants etc.

Wills
