Today my favourite female guppy gave birth to 15 (more but i couldnt find them) fry. All but two of these fry are curled up into balls with what appears to be a yolk sac. This is my first guppy birthing and so i don't know if the fry are meant to be like this or not :S If someone could tell me whether this is normal or not I'd appreciate it greatly

Sounds like the fry have been aborted. The fry are usually born curled up but uncurl before they hit the tank bottom.

If your guppy fry are carrying a yolk sac, they are premature Windhopper. Sometimes they will survive anyway but it is not a propitious start.

was this the fishies first birth cos some of mine did this on their first time but now they dont
it does seem like these were born just a bit too early

good luck hun

I don't know if it was the first birth or not, shes quite large though so i dont think so. :( all the curled up ones have died, so ive got 2 out of the 15 living, and will do my best to keep them alive
