Are My Snails Dead?

Hello BTW I'm new here!
 
I have 2 mystery snails I got awhile ago. They seemed fine for a few months, but now they just lay at the bottom. I swear they do move from place to place every now and then but usually just lay at the bottom inside their shells. Could they be domant because they are not happy? Nothing is trying to eat them and I have a semi aggressive tank. DH seems to think they are alive but I have my doubts.

Can you give us a bit more information about your set-up? Tank size and volume, water stats, other tank occupants would be useful. Was the tank cycled before livestock was added? How often do you do water changes and how much?
If they are moving from time to time then they are still alive. Are you feeding them or leaving them to forage for their own food? If the latter is there any algae for them to eat? 
Sorry that will seem like an awful lot of questions, but the more information we have the better.
