Aquarium Wooden Stand Warping?

So I've recently bought a 4 ft tank, approx 60 gals (at last) and the tank came with a filter, heater, and a wooden stand. My dad had brought the stand (he left the tank itself inside the house) outside so he could add doors to it, and he was thinking about painting it as well. The problem is, he left the stand outside, (it had been raining a lot lately, but the stand itself is under our awning, but condensation and rain drops still found its way onto the surface of the stand) for the past 2 weeks, as he stll hadn't bought the paint yets. I'd taken a look at it, and it seemed fine....at the moment. Anyways, my dad didn't want to bring it in yet, but is there a possibility of the wood warping/rotting if I keep it outside for another week?

If it is a solid wood stand then you should be ok. If it is chipboard, laminate or mdf then it is probably going to warp big time.

Any wood subjected to water will warp and twist out of shape. If you get very lucky, it may dry out and straighten back out but I have yet to see that happen perfectly. To me that means that once you get the new stand dry, you will probably have to plane the top to make it flat again before you paint it. Stands must have a flat top surface for the tank to sit on, even if they are not perfectly level.
