The friend who gave me this tank (for those who haven't seen my other post, it's a 20 gallon) also included some meds, and assorted treatments.

The only one I've used is the bacterial starter, though it came with a used filter, and some dirty gravel, which helps with not needing a severe cycle, or so I've been told.

I have 5 guppies, 2 Long Fin Albino plecos, and now I just added four more Ghost shrimp today, I already had one.

I'd like some opinions on salt use, keeping in mind my fish breeds, and that I've had the tank going for about two weeks, and all seems well.

I've seen some conflicting recommendations on various sites.

Hi Frank

The Bn's wont like salt, I don't know about the shrimp. I am not a big fan of adding anything but water conditioner Easy Life and IAL or IAL extract  to my tank unless needed.

I use Easy Life.

OK, I'll leave well enough alone for now. I do use a conditioner for water changes and top-ups, mostly to take care of the chlorine.

That looks like some good stuff, I'll see if I can find some locally.
