Aqua Safe

Hi all just a quick question,
I went to my local lfs today to buy som aqua safe

which i have been using for years on all my tanks both cold water and tropical, they have a new guy working there and he asked if it was for goldfish of tropical fish and i replied that it was for both as i have both kinds of tank, he then went on to try and tell me that this product is not safe to use with goldfish and i needed a different product called tetra safe for goldfish

he was very insistant that this was the product that i should be using on the goldie tank and not the aqua safe that i have been using with no problems for near on 10 years!!
well i did not buy this new product as i have always just used the normal one, so was he just trying to get me to spend more money or was he right?? is the Tetra Aqua safe ok to use on both tropical and coldwater tanks??
all it says on the bottle is "all fresh water and marine aquaria".
so does anyone else use the normal aqua safe on a goldfish tank?? have i been wrong for all theese years?

gold fish are freshwater fish!

i just use pond dechlor, it works out so much cheaper, 1ml per 75L. 500L is about £8-10 inc P+P

No you fine with what you were doing, alot of people don't even use it, just leave the water 24 hours to evaporate stuff,

thats just what i thought , i think he was just trying to get more money lol i wouldnt mind but this stuff is quite expensive anyway lol
im gonna check out the pond stuff anything to save money!

I buy the Tetra Aqua Safe for ponds (green bottle instead of yellow)
with this you use 5ml per 200litres instead of the usual 5ml per 20litres

Will the pond stuff work in tropical?

I use Seachem Prime. It works out so much cheaper than Aqua Safe. But as has already been said, you can use the yellow bottle for tropical and coldwater fish.

i use tetra pond aquasafe i get it for £7 a bottle
