Aps Filter Cleaning

Hey anyone who has one of these

I need to give it a clean out. What is the best way to do it. I turn power off obvs! But do i just disconnect the out and in take pipes or is there a way to get the water out the pipes before removing them? I also have a lot of gunk collectf in the tubes,how is it best to clean this?

Any help is great as im worried taking it apart for the first time. Im not familiar with externals!

I've got an APS filter that has a shut off pice that stops the water flow and just lifts right off, which model is yours? to clean the pipes i use a bamboo cane just shove it down one end and it pushes the gunk out the other end
