Hey,

I'm having a problem with algae on my bogwood at the moment and was considering getting a snail to combat it. (I have no fish as I'm fishless cycling)

Are Apple snails good for eating algae or do they like eating plants as well. My plants have just established themselves and I dont want to lose them.

If not, any advise on algae removal?

Apple Snails eat decaying plant matter, so no they would not be good at eating algae.

You can try Ottos and SAE. Make sure that the SAE are true and not Flying Foxes or any of the other look alikes.
