Apple Snail's

ive just been home as i usually do on my lunch to check my tanks and my apple snail is out of its shell on the bottom of the tank its probally dead but how did it get out or why did it get out?

when my mysteries die they loose all muscle control and they just fall out of there shells, the other fish in the tank do not help at all either they will peck at your dead snail eating bits of it. i would remove it quickly, i have to just throw mine out, but i suppose you could put them in a compost pile if you have one.

oh im back at work now and i never got it out

the fish will probally eat it, is that bad?

Not really, but there's a chance that they could leave it alone and it might cause an ammonia problem if it starts to rot.

My shrimp took care of my apple when she died. The shell was empty in a few hours.
