can they be kept in room temp water?

do they need any filtration, or if so will a sponge filter be ok?

what do they eat?

thanks in dvance

After assuming they do better in cooler water, it seems they prefer a temperature of about 25-26C.
They do require filtration and plenty of oxygen. I'm not overly familiar with the sponge filters, so can't comment on them.
They will eat algae but provide them with algae wafers, flake, sinking pellets and vegetables.

ok thanks

well i have a small tank i was thinking about breeding apple snails in. i dont really want to have to heat it but the room it is in is normally pretty warm so should be ok

You could try posting in the invertebrate section. There are real experts there compared to us amateurs.
