I bought two of these yesterday, and it's been 24 hours with absolutely no movement...I know nothing about snails...Are they dead?

It's not uncommon for apple snails to stay in the same place for a day or two after being added to a new environment. If you want to check to see if she's dead, take her out and try to open her trap-door. If it opens easily she's most likely dead; If not, just put her back in.

I have apple snails in my tank which bob along the water...scared the bejesus out of me when it first happened...so i scooped it out and put it back in and it sank and opened up...looked around and crawled away as if to say....i was enjoying that!

The only dead one i knew was dead cause it started to swell up...

It takes afew days for them to come out of their shells and investigate their new environment.
