I have been wanting a Apistogramma sp. My other one I got was sick to begin with and died. Today I went out to get dog food and saw a Apistogramma sp. "Steel Blue". I had to have it. So I was doing research and found that these might be hybrids made in Asia?

Anyone have any other info on these fish?

He is fitting in really well.

http://www.dwarfcich..._Steel_blue.php is a profile link I've had for two years since I saw them at my favourite LFS (that I have not been able to visit now for at least 3 months). When I read that profile, the name "Steve Chester" meant nothing to me, but I now now that Steve is the publicity secretary for the British Cichlid Association and runs by a name similar to ste12000 on here and many other places who seems to get any soft water specie breeding he so dires.

I wonder if I could find a female. Or could I keep males together? I was going to ask my lfs to order more for me. I am just not sure if I should keep a bunch of males?

I have a female, as my male has passed on. They look very similar, with the females only having slightly less body color and the leading edge of the ventrals is black.
