Anything For A Tank That Eats Poo (faeces)

heya guys!

Im planning a CuC for my tank, and heard that apple snails eat poo?

its a smallish tank so no silly ideas XD

Is this true about apple snails?

i dont think so ... more algy than poo im pretty sure youd b better of with a filter

I don't think there is anything that will eat poop.... well maybe there is *shrugs* but def not an apple snail.

I'm pretty sure that (the appropriate) nitrifying bacteria are quite partial to poop.
Get a decent filter, good water cirulation, decent stocking, a maintenance routine that works for you - and you're off to a good start.

Sorry to say Bagu but there is nothing in tropical aquatic world that will eat poo as far as up to date research shows and if you thinking "what can i get to eat fishes waste from the bottom of my tank?" the answer is nothing live ... the only thing is aquarium syphon mate and it works 100% also think about it even if we say there is sone kind of fish that will eat it wont it produce its waste? ... its going in circles. Every time you change water use syphon so while the old water flows out clean your cravel with it.

You can get bottom dwellers like catfish or cories, etc...that will "stir" up the bottom, making it easier for your filter to pick up debris and what not.

Trumpet snails. I've seen them eating the shrimp poop in my tank.

if ur trumpet snails eat fish turd, who eats snail turd?

the only way to remove poo is the siphon, i'm afraid.
