does any have/used to have a AQUA_TECH POWER FILTER model 30/60 by regent? it came with my 55 gallon tank and i want to know if its a good power filter and what the gph is................anyone please help

Don't know if they have Walmart's in Greece but here in the states Walmart sells Aquarium Starter Kits up to about 55 gallons and they come with Regent Aqua-Tech filters. I've never seen them sold anywhere else. These filters are actually made by Marineland and IMO they are quite good. I have an Aqua-Tech 5-15. Did the filter come with anything that said the GPH (probably not or you wouldn't have asked)? I'd guess it would be around 250 gph or so. Did you try Googleing the name of the filter? That's how I found out they're made by Marineland and you can actually put a bio-wheel on them if you want. If I find anything else I'll post it.

I know that product, well... the 5-15 model actually. It's a very good cartridge style filter, much like the Marineland Penguins. As a matter of fact, Aquatech is made by the same manufactorer, and you can use the Penguin cartridges in the Aquatech ones, and vice versa, you just have to find the right size.

Also, you can modify them w/ bio-wheels just like the Penguins, just have to order the parts. I used it since May 04' and just stopped less than 1 month ago, because I got a Aquaclear 200. Cartridges hardly need changing, washing it in tank water once in a while will do. Also, you can cut the cartridges and stuff em' with more carbon or some other media.

The thing primes by itself, but is noisy until it does so, and it takes some time. Much more than I can say about the Penguins though. :sly: And it's quite silent, I had it less than 5 feet away from where I sleep, and I could hardly hear it. Then again, I like to sleep with some music on, so

HTH.

Or maybe he doesn't want people to reply in his future threads, who knows... -_-
