Can you help me with my betta:

He's breathing very heavy was on his betta leaf, then at the bottom of the tank. No ammonia no nitrite nitrates kh and gh all fine. Water temp 80. 10 gallon tank no mates! I don't know what to do!

Welcome to the forum
Sorry about your betta.
I would try turning down the temperature of the water and maybe increasing aeration.
Could we see pictures of your betta so we can help you a bit more?

He's breathing very heavy was on his betta leaf, then at the bottom of the tank. No ammonia no nitrite 20 ppm nitrates KH and GH all fine. Water temp 80. 10-gallon tank no mates! I don't know what to do! He is coming up sporadically for air at the surface and going right back down. I just did a water change, he's acting the same. Woke up to this condition of him. Have had him since January.

He's now in his little hiding spot , I can't get a good picture until he resurfaces. I have an air stone, what should I turn the temp down too ?

Slowly turn the temp down to about 75-77

isn't that too low for a betta? I will try I don't want hi to get cold though!

I will guarantee that 75 is not low for a betta.
See, in higher temps oxygen levels decrease which can cause heavy breathing.
Strangely though your bett should be surfacing and gasping for air so it could also be another issue.
But 75 isn't too low. Although I would say 76-77 would be the optimal temp

Hmm, did you treat the water before putting it in the tank, May I see a photo of the tank and the fish for diagnosis.

Pictures and video of the fish and tank?

How long has the tank been set up for?
How long have you had the fish for?
How long after you get the fish does the problem start?

What sort of filter is on the tank?
How often and how do you clean the filter?

How often do you do water changes and how much do you change?
Do you gravel clean the substrate when you do a water change?
Do you dechlorinate the new water before adding it to the aquarium?

Do you have separate buckets that are used specifically for the fish tank?

I wouldn't start up a second thread... Mods usually delete or combine them then

A temperature of 80F is fine for Bettas. They are labyrinth fish that can breath air from the atmosphere or take in oxygen from the water via their gills.

It's either a water quality problem or disease.

The water test was with the api test kit and strips, even before the water change was perfect, I have kanaplex metroplex and salt. he just popped out for a moment
