Hi everyone.

I went to visit the local streams today with my partner.... Started as a warm day so seemed like a good idea.
when we was walking around the streams I noticed these two shinin in the water.

I took them out and well I took them home with me lol.
Dunno what they are, there shiny and feel warm which I thought was cause of water but it was 11am this morning I found them and there still warm now!

Any ideas?

Well, it aint Cryptonite ;) and it's not warm because it is from a meteor unless it was in a VERY large hole :X

Looks like quartz to me too.

Creepy rock thats what it is lol
I noticed it cause it looked pretty lol.

But I thought the warmth would of wore off by now.

Maybe I'll try puttin it in freezer that should cool it off

P.S Whats Cryptonite

P.S Whats Cryptonite
Kryptonite is a fictional substance from the Superman radio show series (and subsequent related media, most notably the comic books). The word kryptonite is used in speech to describe someone's or something's weakness. The material, usually shown as having been created from the remains of Superman's native planet of Krypton, generally has detrimental effects on Superman. The name "kryptonite" covers a variety of forms of the substance, but usually refers to the most common "green" form.

however
Kryptonite is no longer just the stuff of fiction feared by caped superheroes.
A new mineral matching its unique chemistry - as described in the film Superman Returns - has been identified in a mine in Serbia.

btw the fictional stuff was named as Sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide with fluorine
and sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide (no fluorine) is what has been discovered

Finally
to answer your question
it is quartz :good:

Rocks can store quite a bit of warmth from the sun. Sand stone seems to be the same way. But if you freeze it and it's still warm it might be something to research.

Wow just love the way this thread has gone just by mentioning Cryptonite.....sorry, I mean Kryptonite   ;)
