Anyone Know Much About This Tank?!

I'm wondering what people think of this tank and if they have any experience with it! Is the filter any good?

I know its horrible but its within my price range! (There will be no mermaids when I set it up!)

I have a betta in a 2.5gal which needs regular water changes so I wanted to get him into a albeit only slightly larger filtered tank.

If anyone has any other (cheap!) suggestions for filtered tanks that are available in the UK I'm all ears!! Space is an issue too I'd rather have a taller tank than a wide one.

Have a look on ebay, second hand tanks are much cheaper than new ones and often there is nothing wrong with them the current owner just cant be bothered looking after them anymore. 2 of my tanks have been second hand and never had a problem with them.

Oh yes!

My little niece has this tank! Its excellent, and just the right size for a betta

And ypu, the fiter is good for that size of a tank. All you need is a heater.

Walmart 5 gallon looks just like our bigger tank for 10$ once you buy that hood heater and filter you will have spend about the same. Petstores usually carry them to in a combo deal for about the same amount

agree, that you should check ebay, aquarist classifieds, gumtree and other online add listings for some real bargains.
Also dunno if you have an Aldi near you, they were doing complete setups for under 35 here recently.

have a look at the superfish aqua 40 i have this tank and it's a lovely little tank good filter and light with it and i paid about £40.00 for it at maidenhead it's well worth paying the extra £10.00 you will have a much better tank for your money.

I don't like E bay to me its like buying blind and the sellers don't always tell the truth and it nearly always ends up in the bin. The size of your tank is down to the size of ya fish. 1 inch of fish is equal to one litre of water. The filtration is down to you the better the filters the happier the fish will be.Sory the 1 inch of fish bit is well wrong its far more complex than that

The trick to buying ebay is to buy local so that you can drive over and check it out. I've never had a problem with ebay as I've always bought from people with really good feedback scores.

you first post and you got it all wrong. inches and liters usually don't mix, and in this case the mix is especially fatal.

Yes, def. get on eBay Here's how to search for tanks in your area.
Categories >home and garden > pet supplies > fish > tanks and bowls.
On the left, select 'used', then 'distance' within (I go 25 miles) of your postcode. You can save the search and watch as new stuff gets added. At the top of the search sorting by 'time-newly added' brings new stuff to the top. There will be something cheap and suitable in no time. I've had 2 aqua 40 tanks, one cost £20, the other £13, a 21l hex for £12.50 and a 40l aqua qube for a tenner. You'll get way better quality for your money than p@h rubbish

Definitely try ebay, you'll get a whole kit with a decent tank with lights, which that one wont have. I just bought a great aquastart 320 for £10 to use as a quarantine tank and it's in superb condition and came with gravel, filter and even an air pump.

I feel like I've bin shot down in flames .. Hey ho Im still not a great fan of ebay but that doesn't stop me wasting hrs and hrs and hrs of valuble time trawling through it. I was hoping that this forum might take my mind of it lol. I am looking for a new tank but the chances of ebay having one are slight. I'm looking at 72x24x30ins high or higher. ND Aquatics seem to be the most helpful or should i say patient. Charterhouse aquatics are having an eheim filter sale at the moment so im going to order some goodies from them as soon as my wages get into the bank next week.
