Anyone Have Water Containers I Could Borrow

i am needing to relocate my tank from my ex's house to my new place and am wondering if anyone local has any water containers i could borrow as i would like to keep as much of the of the water as i can as i have done large water changes in the past and lost fish due to ph shock, so would like to try and avoid fillign the whole tank with new water.

i will be needing then around the end of november and can return them the same day.

its a 300ltr tank and i would like to save as much as possible., so i would need a lot of those 15ltr ones.

ideally i would need say 4 25ltr ones as a minimum. i do have 10 15ltr buckets but they are no good in to be transported in the car.

i am located in Farnborough.

when i upgraded my tank i borrowed 6 25ltr containers from MA to keep all the water however the bloke is now beign tight and wont let me have them again.

Have you tried asking a different MA? There's a few in the area. Also a fish shop in blackwater that might be able to help.

Im in Basingstoke. Ill have an ask about as i dont have any myself. I use tons of buckets also! Im sure i can get someone to dig something out.

Providing im not busy doing something for the Mrs (all the freaking time lol) , i'd be happy to help with moving it all if required. Car aint huge however lol

the problem is with MA is they rent the containrs out for RO water. You leave a £10 deposit for the container then keep using it etc. then when you dont need it or buy one of your own they give you the £10 back but as a credit note.

its a joke, i said i will give you £10 per container as a deposit if i can get it back in cash and they said i would have to have a credit note.

so i am lookign at spending out £60-£80 in theory.

woking gave them to me last time but now say they cant and i called windlesham and they said about the credit note.

not much repayment for spending all my pocket money in there!

thanks so much for the offer thats really kind. i first have to work out a way she will let me in to get the thing at the end of november as i am locked out from the house and she cant see me apparenty. (too emotional) hopefully in a month she will be a bit more reasonable.

Shame about all the MA stores, you'd have thought they'd understand the situation and help you out. I could only suggest calling the Bracknell store as that's the most helpful one I've found. Windlesham/Ascot is rubbish.

Ouch, been there myself Im sure she'll give you the tank back, rather than watch them die of neglect (i take it you were responsible for the tank while there? lol)

If you like, ill ring MA at Dummer and Thatcham closer to the time as Dummer is just up the road, and i pass Thatcham most weekends. If they would be happy to hand over a few containers for a day, i would be more than happy to give you a hand shifting everything about, and ill drop them back in to them when i next pass?

No worries. Dummer and Thatcham are normally pretty good. If not, WoW at Shinefield have a really nice fish team, and are always willing to help out, so we could try them too.

What about just pre-acclimatising them to tap water and properly acclimatising after you move? In other words, do keep as much water as possible, but start on larger and more regular water changes now to shift your parameters closer to tap water and add any new water after the move slowly, over a day or two. Or what about preparing the new water to match current parameters at the other end? For example, by having some RO or rainwater ready to go into the tank, if tap water is too hard (which might work better with the buckets if you're collecting the rain water at the new place).

the ex is looking after them till i can get them so i really cant do much before i collect it i have asked her to do a water change as its been 10 days since i left she will probably only do 10% if im lucky. i am not even sure she will let me go in and get it yet, she has gone a bit weird. i may suggest i drop round 3 tough crates with lids and some water containers, then she can fill the water containers, put the fish in one crate, the wood and plants in another and then all the stuff in the cupboards under the tank in the other. then i will just come in and pick it up without seeing her. well it could work in theory lol

How about using large trash bags? I have moved large fish in them before. Just make sure they're not the scented bags!
