Hmmm... dunno... looks awfully cheap, too cheap I'd say. And ugly as ****.

I don't know about your budget, but I'd look at what APS has for sale. If you really need 4 tubes, then they have a fixture for about £150, wich is almost twice that, but at least I can tell you it works beautifully. I removed it from my discus tank only when I moved to LEDs.

Where do you live?

APS?

I'm in S. Yorkshire, and yes, I know it's cheap and such, which is why I'm assuming it's probably very hit and miss.

Ah, thanks a lot. Admittedly I'm wary of open topped tanks in general, due to the obvious evaporation 'problems'. Though those luminaires aren't ridiculously pricey either.

I can vouch for them. I have a 4' one and a 2' one, they were both on open tanks and they never gave me a problem.

The 4' one has been replaced by LEDs, and the 2' one has been stored as the tank is currently not planted.

Otherwise I'd still be using them.

I just bought one of those cheap lights today instead of the one from allpondsolutions so ill let you know what I think. If its terrible its going straight back and I'm getting the £150.

Just wanted to see what it was like for half the price, guessing it will be half the quality.
