Anybody Keep Pike Cichlids?

hi,does anyone on the site keep pike cichlidsif so,what type/size are theywhat size tank are they in???and,what are their tankmatesthanks in advance mark

I have never kept pike cichlids but I do know they are very docile fish (as in they don't swim around alot). Anytime in a lfs or seeing them on animal planet or the discovery channel, they usually are laying around on a rock or on the substrate. Whether this means that they are less aggressive I would doubt as they are still cichlids. Try googling them and you will prob find alot fo information that will be helpful to you!

I've kept a few pikes in my time, unfortunately their body shape makes it all too easy for predatory catfishes to swallow them so i dont have any now.

thanks for the info guys.got a 5-6 inch pike cichlid yesterday.not sure of exact type yet.was worried about my odoe not liking him,but,the odoe has taken no notice at all.will update with some pics later,but ive got a weeks holiday so im off to the beach again lol(sunny cornwall)

did a lot of reading and looking at pictures today and i think its a belly crawler.my large rainbow cichlid was picking on it yesterday,but,the tables turned today lol.pike cichlid was chasing the rainbow cichlid around the tank.was worried about it in the same tank as the odoe,but,fingers crossed,not one incy bit of trouble ( so far )

got a correct id for my pike now.its a sveni.settled in the tank well.now eating prawns.fitted in well with all the other tank occupants(so far).surely there must be more pike cichlid owners on this site

a horrible fish,
i quickly fell in love with one and bought it around 6"
it ate a 13" tiretrack eel. and a 7" clown knife.
i wouldnt bother, they deserve to be destroyed. all the lfs's i know have like 14" males for sale that have been ther for about 5 years. coz nobody wants them.
