im know im in the wrong section but thought i may get more of a reply here, the invert section never seems busy for me (mods if you wish you can move this :) )

i have a lone male cherax quadricarinatus fully grown in a 2 metre long tank with oscars and a few catfish. now he's always seemed happy and is fab to watch.

now for my question, i have been asked could i take on 'a few' (not sure how many) cherax quadricarinatus as this guy has too many to cope with. they are it seems not yet fully grown and will be a mix of male and females.

would they live happily with my male or is there likely to be fighting? would it be better if i got all males or all females off this guy? i have a spare 200L tank i can get up and running for them but id much prefer to put them in an existing set up

many thanks

200L, thats around 40G? Im guessing.

Well, they will fight over territory, just hope for the best. Make sure you build caves. plenty of caves. Get a ratio of 1:2 M/F. (Guessing)

no its 480L (2 metre long tank) so its a bit bigger than 40G (127gallon?)! we've agreed to take on 2 females for now, and if all goes well we shall take two more the following week.

just off to make some more caves!
