I'm currently fishless cycling a 25gal tank and plan to stock with:

10-12 forktail blue eyed rainbowfish
30-50 Cherry shrimp

Would like a pair/trio of dwarf cichlids for a centrepiece, ideally something with colour but they must be ok with cherry shrimp, are there any that would fine?

In my other tank I already have bolivan rams and apisto cacatuoide double red so them two are ruled out.

I like apistos but as far as I'm aware most, if not all of them will make snacks of the shrimp

Any suggestions would be greatly received

My bolivians tried it on with the cherrys when I first got them but soon gave up as they grew. And also when they realised they didn't stand a chance of catch them.

However I would say it's a risk for any cichlids you want to mix them with.

Yeah agree with above a few species it might work with but would depend on individuals and the rate that your cherry shrimp reproduce.
