Another Post ,needing Help With Stocking :)

Ok so you're given an 112ukG tank , What would you put in it ?

I've done the guppies platties etc had angel's then progressed to sev's convicts etc , I then dipped my toes in the salty side (wayyy to expensive atm) , i did decide to do discus this time but after reading some post's people say they can be boring slow moving etc .

Thank tank will be heavily planted etc currently have 4 juvi sev's from a friend to keep the filter going and 3 bronze cory's

I would ideally like loads of cory's at the bottom , don't want tank buster's or agressive fish

so what would you do ?

yeah the sev's will be rehomed once i decide what i'm doing lol , they only juvi's bout the size of a £2 coin so not that destructive yet, saying that my old sev vinnie was actually well behaved , he only took a dislike towards a big sword that sat right infront of his spot in the tank , never touched vallis crypts or moss that were there .

any idea's on what i can stock with ? really wanted the discus due to bright colours from the marine wanted to do discus but umming and ahhing now

I have always wanted to do Discus too, but went the other way and ended up going big and bullish

If you're wanting to go planted then there is no reason why you can't go with your original plans. You will need to stock a Cory like Sterbai though to deal with the higher temperatures that the Discus like. Cardinals would be the obvious dithers... But thats where my problem lyed... OBVIOUS

Yeah that's where i'm struggling i want the discus but also something oddball ish if that makes sense , i know the discus will be the main focus fish in the tank , I thought about BGK but will the cope with the high temps , i know the cardinal's would look ace in a big 40-50 shoal of them but it's been done time and time again .

If anyone would like to offer any different alternates doesn't necessarily have to have discus in the mix perhap's just something colourfull ! lol and not teeny

What are the dimensions?


If it were me, I'd get a big shoal of cories, or two shoals of different cories. Secondly, I'd go with a few larger fish, like Keyhole cichlids. Then I'd go with a shoal of fast swimmers... Probably boesemann, although Praecox are nice as well (but smaller). After then, I would see how they all get on and how the tank looks before deciding where to go from there. For me, large shoals of fish are generally preferred to the large specimens, but that's just my taste. Maybe you could mix in a few Apistogrammas (if I did that, I'd go with one male and a harem of 3 or 4 females - and make sure that the females each have their own "cave" to call their own, plus maybe a spare or two, just to be safe). That's what I would do... then I'd look for a new home, because my wife would probably kick me out.
