I am about to upgrade my Oscar tank as he has rapidly outgrown the one he is currently in. Can I introduce another Oscar of a similiar size or are there complications with territorial disputes etc??

He is only about 9 months old (8inches).

You should be able to add another Oscar. Percentage-wise it will work most of the time. I wouldn't keep 2 Oscars in anything less than 120-130g's when mature tho.

2 Oscars also need heavy filtration and twice weekly 35-50% water changes, imo.

Let us know what you decide as that sounds great having 2 Oscars. A great fish to keep and very beautiful. :)

The tank I am getting has two external filters (I already have another external from my current tank) and an an internal filter.

I am not definately getting a second but I think he may be a bit bored.

Cheers for the advice and I will let you know the outcome.
